Uberti Stallion questions
« on: January 11, 2011, 11:29:02 AM »
My nephew is considering one and I would like y,all's opinion.
He thinks he wants a .38 but Im urging a .22 (he would afford to shot it more and learn the 'fun'damentals.

Gcrank, I think one of those in 38 would be a great little pistol!  (especially with the short barrel)  But I do tend to agree with you that a .22 should be the 'starter' pistol.  If he has a .22 already, then go for the 38, if not it's probably a better bet to buy the Stallion in a .22.  But I have learned with my kids and neices and nephews that we can 'suggest' all we want, but in the end they are going to do what they want (just like we did at that age!).  He'll have a ball with whatever he buys, and love going shooting with you.  44 Man

Depending on how well he can learn and how patient he is, it might be a great opportunity to teach him how to reload his own ammunition.

All so true, but he is a state away and we do not often get together. Even so, Im afraid I may have been a 'bad' influence on him; he is probably doomed now too  ;D.
