duk. Yes, some are real scum that I wouldn't even take an app from if it had been up to me. Some were covered in ugly ---ed tats, all kinds of pins wires and tacks sticking out of  their faces. Dirty filthy clothes with holes in them, hair unkempt. One scum they hired I couldn't stand to be around him, a sagger, crotch down to his knees. One day I had to work in the same aisle with him, I lasted ALMOST 10 min. I went over to him and told him to pull his pants up, HUUUUUHHHHHH??, I repeated it and told him this was a place of business not his local druggie hangout and he looked like a slob. He quit the next day. There are a lot of good folks working there, but they are being replaced by slobs. But they still do get a few good ones, they don't last long cause wm treats them like dirt. Ideally wm wants to USE a person just short of a year, no raises til they are there a year, then hire somebody else to keep the rate of pay at the bottom, sadly of quality help too. I would think being drugged would be the only way one could stand to work at WM! I can hardly stand to go into a WM to shop and don't if I have a choice.

I look at it like this. The majority of us are subjected to random drug test in order to keep collecting our hard earned pay checks so why shouldn't welfare recipients be subject to the same requirements.
I agree.

I have often wondered, why not start up a state run grocery store specifically for food stamps and the like. As far as that goes have the store worked be the recipients with oversight.

Only 1 wm store ever went union, it was in Canada. They fired everybody and closed the store. I worked for them 7 1/2 years. You would not believe some of the mind games they do to keep stress levels high to increase turnover which keeps wages low. People mean nothing to corporate, neither employees, or customers.
