I finally joined the club
« on: January 23, 2011, 12:02:20 PM »
I picked up a 1st gen contender today in 44 mag with a super 14 barrel and a bushnell 2-6 on top, excellent condition. I'm pretty excited to see how it shoots. I wish I didnt have to wait until next year to hunt some deer.

Look on the bright side you have almost a whole year to buy every barrel that comes along and then a month before deer season you will have some time to see which one goes hunting or you can do like I did this year and took a different one each day till I got my limit. You cant have just one,if you do you have more will power than the rest of us contender, I will be kind and use collectors :) :) There was a 30-30 barrel up earlier, did you get it, you have to be quick and look often :) welcome to the club.

Alright, way to go.

Now you need more; frames, barrels, grips, etc...

 ;D

That ought to be a nice plinker with that 14" barrel on it. It it were me, I'd be trying some hardcast flat nose bullets around 300-330 gr range in that puppy.

You have my sympathy. First you'll need more barrels. Then you'll need a scope for each barrel. Then you'll decide that you really need more frames so you can spend more time at the range shooting rather than switching barrels. And on it goes.

Congrats on purchasing one of the best handgun shooting platforms out there. They are extremely versatile, and very accurate.

They're like lays potato chips, you can't have just one.
