New Stock - good news bad news

I just got a synthetic stock from a member.  The good news is the forend fit the 223's bull barrel which the wood stock I tried didn't.  The bad news is the stock bolt is about 3/4 inch too short!   ???  Is strikes me as unusual,  :-\  is it?

  Let me know what length bolt you need. I bought a bunch of differing lengths a while back and haven't even used one of them yet.

Thanks for the offer Din but it would probably cost more to ship then it would if I went to Lowe's!   ;D  It's not a problem, I was just curious that there were 2 differnt bolt lengths and I'd never heard anyone mention it before...  ???

But I do appreciate your offer!   ;D

Old syn stocks and wood stocks use a 4" bolt, the new syn and Survivor stocks use a 5" bolt, 3/8"-24 thread.  ;)
