Can buy a clean used 16ga M 158 in 16 ga. What is the cost of a barrel replacement to 44 mag>?   Thanks

Whatever you have to pay for a used barrel, see the H&R Classifieds and the barrel fitting info in the FAQs and help sticky.  H&R won't fit an accessory barrel, the 158 was made before 1987.

Thanks for the info. I may be better off looking on the used gun rack.i would have to buy the 158 first ,then think barrel

Buy the 16 gauge regardless, you won't be sorry. If for some reason you don't like it you'd have no problem selling it on the classifieds here.
