My friends dog knocked his Savage 24 over and the barrel lug snapped off intact, at the solder joint,with the fore grip still attached.A sad day for him.
So far he has not found a smith around vancouver,WAwho wants to touch it, and hasn't looked in Portland,OR yet. Has anybody here had experience with this type of thing and knows how to repair it? I was thinking a few small TIG spot type welds would work without distorting the shottie barrel too much. Would he be better off contacting Savage? I told him I would ask the experts. Any advice ill be greatly appreciated by him, and I will certainly let him know where the info came from. Thanks in advance.
