Springfied Match with ambidextrous safeties
« on: January 27, 2011, 12:26:38 PM »
After 40 years of wanting a 1911 I finally purchased one. Probably would have never bought one except my son owned it and needed money. It is a stainless match made by Springfield . My question is about the grips, the gun has ambidextrous safeties and I would like to put on wrap around Pachmayr  grips on it. I was told that these grips don't work with ambidextrous safeties. I have seen some pictures of 1911 with these grips on them and they have ambidextrous safeties. Can someone please educate me on this subject.

The grip needs to have the relief cut in the back of them to hold the safety on like the grips do that are on the gun now.
