6mm ppc brass
« on: January 27, 2011, 03:45:54 PM »
Wondering how well it works to form 7.62x39 into 6mm ppc. Just got  a 6mm ppc and was searching for ways to get brass at a resonable price. Any info will help thanks.

You can do it but won't get the accuracy level that using Laupa will give.  Not sure how much a form die cost  you, normally the (7.63x39) has a large primer pocket vs the small for the ppc and another problem if your shooting a tight neck rifle.

Bruno's shooting supply every so often get some factory 6ppc made by Norma
http://www.brunoshooters.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=SFNT&Store_Code=BSS.

There still some Sako 6ppc and 22ppc brass that was the brass made for those single shot 6/22ppc that Sako sold and you see that come up on 6Br and the benchrest site for sale every so often.

I would just bite the bullet ($$$) and get some Lapua cases. If you have a nice tight chamber and neck size it will last you almost forever with accuracy loads. Just don't try to make it into a 6 BR or a 243 Win and you will get great case life.
