Someone once wrote that the Cimmaron firearms (rifles and revolvers) were all made by Uberti or one of the other Italian firms and I would expect that if this is true then the Cimmaron 1911 is made by someone else but to Cimmaron specifications (finish, grips, sights, etc.,), but don't let that stop you from purchasing something you like because all those CASS folk I have spoken with regarding the Cimmaron selections find them perfectly suitable for their purposes.
I have read in Cimmaron literature that 'action jobs' on their 1873 revolvers (don't know if they make the Rem 1875s) help them last longer if the revolver is to be shot extensively, as in lots of practice and CASS matches. I fully intend, one day, to avail myself of a Cimmaron Model 1873, with a 4&5/8" bbl, antique finish and action job, in 45 Colt caliber. I will get only one of those because if I get two, or a matching pair (of nickled finish), I am liable to show up at a CASS match in western garb calling myself 2 Gun Mikey and thinking a bit too much of myself in the process.................. HTH.
