NcStar?
« on: January 30, 2011, 12:20:26 PM »
I just ordered a NcStar 6X24X50 because it got a lot of stars on the midway site. Just wonder what others thought of this scope and if anyone had any experience with them? I'm putting it on may 243 Handi Rifle.

A worthy addition to any Daisy BB gun.

Midway needs to start making people pass a competency test before they are allowed to vote/rate an item.  Seriously, if you start to wonder why NC Star "offers" so many options for a much cheaper price than big name brands, its due to the shoddy craftsmanship and cheap glass.  That being said I hope that you have good luck with yours.

Should have asked the question before you bought...that's how its supposed to work. ;)

I have some of their lazer sights, but would never buy one of their scopes.

Someone gave me one in 2 1/2 X 7 EER with Illuminated reticle.  I  mounted it on an Encore pistol chambered for 357 Max (not a real heavy hitter by any stretch).  Went to the range and when I fired the first shot the left side of the scope (battery compartment) flew off.  Never even bothered to send it back.
If I agreed with you then we would both be wrong.

Hey, who knows, it may be ok. A freind of mine bought one about 5 years ago. After a sighting in session the scope wouldn't hold zero. He sent it in and they sent him another one and to this day he never had a problem with it.

For low buck optics I've had reasonable luck with Tasco and BSA.
