found stock the other day, got a few ?'s

I found this the other day and have no clue what gun its for. its in really good condition with some surface scratches. It also has a spring deal in the barrel channel. any help??

thats what a few other people have told me, that its an austin and halleck stock. I think its the tiger striped maple stock they offered. I just cleaned it up some and looks 100x better.

the flat spring in the stock channel is to hold the ram rod
