Any chance of this ever coming true. they just came out with the .410 lever gun. Why not in .41mag? I'm not a big fan of the Marlins.

CMAC: Just out of curiousity, why do you like the .41 magnum so much? I have a .44 Mag M-94 (16" Trapper) and I understand the attraction of a short, handy M-94 carbine, but why the .41 rather than the .44?

Please note that I'm not trying to start an argument or to denegrate your personal preference, but I am curious since the .41 magnum fans seem very devoted to this caliber and I personally fail to see why it is desirable over the .44 magnum in a carbine.

Would be a great combo rifle to a S&W or Ruger revolver. Marlin has one out now .

I love the 41. shoots flat. Less recoil than the 44. It's only .019" smaller than the 44. or I should say the 429. Ballisticly almost the same as the 44. It would be like saying, why do you want the 44 when you could have 357? That's a very popular round. Or why not the 454? I guess when it comes down to it. I'ts just a little different. People see my Smith 657 or my ruger and say. That a 44 mag? NO, It's a 41 mag. Just something a little different. If you look at the many different calibers. Why so many?
I'd still like to see a Winchester in 41. By the way. Your 44 is a very good round.

How 'bout a .41 in a Model '92? That might be more my speed. I've heard problems with the '94 chambered for pistol rounds. The Cowboy Action guys say they jam. The '92 which is every bit as strong, and classy is designed precisely for short pistol cartridges.

I agree though it make a sweet lever action. I might even give up my .357 M92 in a trade. But I'm having enough trouble waiting for a used .357 Blackhawk to show up. I can't imagine how much hassle it would be to stir up a used .41 (especially since the .41 owners like 'em so much).

Converting a 45 Colt Rossi 92 is one of my pet projects. I just haven't gotten around to doing it. The reason a 41 mag? Why Not?

I contacted http://www.montanarifleman.com/ about having it done. But the price is about $395.00 or so to have it done. There might be other gunsmiths that can do it for the same price or less.

I do not see why a Winchester 94 can't be converted. Email the Montana Rifleman for a quote. It can't hurt.

If you want a Browning design 41 mag you will have to go with a conversion until Winchester or Rossi to come out with it. It might be long wait.

I was in Anchorage a week ago and went to Wild West Guns. They had an octagon barreled Marlin in 41 mag, converted to take down. Beautiful wood and a custom price of about $1,700 if I remember correctly. Quite a bit out of my range or I'd have bought it right there. If you are looking for a top end 41 mag lever gun give them a call - or I think they have a website.

Marlin already offers a 41 mag for a whole lot less. But the thing is Marlin's are not of Browning design. I prefer the Winchester 92 and 94 designs. Marlins look to much like the old Henry, Winchester 1866 and Winchester 73's. I just do not like the the teardrop look where the lever pivots. I'm just not a big Marlin fan. But I do cherious my Dad's Ol' Sears & Roebucks trienta-trienta. It's a Marlin. But if it wasn't my Dad's I would have gotten rid of it years ago. It's just my preference.

I really want a 41 Mag lever action. I had the money saved and looked at 3 different Marlins. The actions were so rough on all three that I would not turn my money over for them. I am hoping Winchester will do one. Most people prefer the Marlins, but my money would go to Winchester.
