Red Dot Scope on Encore 50 Cal?

I need some advice from seasoned ML shooters.

I've got a Tasco Pro Point red dot non magnifying scope that I have had laying around the house for a few years and never used it. Since Alabama does not allow scopes during ML season, but does allow these non magnifying type scopes, I was thinking of mounting it on my TC Encore. I already called the game wardens office, and he assured me they are legal to use as long as they don't magnify.

My first question is, do you think it could handle the recoil of the 50 cal. ML barrel? If it can handle the recoil, do you think it would be good in a hunting situation, or do you think I would be better off just using the fiber optic sights that are currently on it? Thanks for any advice or opinions.

I like the factory sights myself, had not have had good luck with ProPoints, but have had good results with the Bushnell Holosight.
