I recently purchased my first handi-rifle. Shot factory hornady 32 vmax to try it out. It shot OK. Started the process of reloading various bullets and found to my dismay that 39 gr bullets and up would not stabilize. Checked and found the twist to be 1 in 14" instead of the 1 in 12" I thought I was getting.
I bought the gun primarily for 'yote hunting and was wanting to shoot 40gr class of bullets. After some minor tinkering with the bedding and such, it handles the 26-32gr bullets very well.
I called the factory and was informed that they quit producing the 1 in 12" twist about 1 1/2 years ago, hmmmm!
Does anyone have any experience with the 35gr Bergers and any thoughts on using the 32gr bullets for 'yotes @ 200-250 yds?
Love the gun. Perhaps another barrel will be needed, say a 223 and a 243 and a 7-08 if you get my meaning. Hey wife, where is the check booK?
