Yugo SKS Assembly Problem.
« on: December 18, 2003, 04:40:21 PM »
I have a problem assembling my Yugo 59/66 SKS. I got as far as the trigger assembly and I cant get it to press down enough to snap the latch shut. It seems to be down as far as it will go and the latch is not protruding far enough.  I never had a problem with the Norinco's. Any suggestions?...........Horsefeathers.

Try engaging the safety on the trigger group before you start pushing.  I currently have my Yugo in pices on my workbench in the final stages of cleaning.  I had the same problem with my Albanian till I remembered the safety.

Thesafety was on. The gun is so new and tight that it took a clamp(rubbered padded) to compress it down untill it snapped into place. It's an excellent value for the money.....Horsefeathers.
