I shoot paper targets 99.9% of the time. But I try to make them interesting by shooting printed pictures of Jane Fonda, Rosie O'Donnell, and other undesirables.

We aren't allowed to shoot pictures of anybody at our range.

I saw a guy get told to take down targets with bin Laden and Saddam on them.

It is range policy and no exceptions.

Yesterday, a friend and I were shooting bowling pins and paper targets with our 29's.

Today I was shooting at a small black rock at about 20 yards with my old S&W Model 17.

I shoot almost exclusively paper.  Lately I've been shooting a lot at an indoor range which is paper only ($5 per trip + $1 per target there, but it's nice getting a guaranteed lane and being able to change targets whenever I want).  There's also an outdoor range I sometime shoot at.  It's free (DNR provided) but often crowded and you basically have to wait for everyone to stop shooting to change out targets (which occurs maybe once every 30 minutes).  IF I'm at the outdoor range and something happens to my target (gets knocked over or something), then I'll typically pass the time plinking random cans people have left on the range until I can go out and fix the target.  Eventually I'd like to get one of those steel spinner targets that are suited to larger rounds.

As much as I hate to admit it but in all honesty I mostly carry them around.  Ruger Blackhawk when hunting or working the lease.  One of the 3 autos in .45acp when out and about and I don't mind that I don't have to use them (when out and about).  Browning Buckmark gets a wringing out everytime I go to the range, cheap trigger time you know.

Ant hills, dirt clods, long-distance rocks. But my favorite is cow pies- especially the fresh ones from a distance- just like a volcano going off!

When it isn't tha hogs, I take on paper to keep in practice. Not that I couldn't shoot a deer, and I have in the past, just seem to have other things to do that with.
