Danny,

Get ahold of someone at XS sights and tell them your problem. They can either help you or point you in the right direction.

If you're interested in scout rifles, you might find some interesting stuff on this site: Scoutrifle.org.

That's a very expensive rifle.. and should be great for close and fast.. Try the Brownells catalog for mounts..but I'm betting a semi-custom at least mount will be required.. I would advise not altering the rifle much due to it's value..

Thanks for reply.
i love this little rifle ,yes in deed it is a fast handling accurate little darling, but my problem is that i am an old man with old eyes and can't focus on the rear sight as i deed before :(
this rifle has a great hunting value for me.
i enjoy it now and  i leave  the market value to my son or grandson to deal with ;D
there are some side mounts on the market, but they are UGLY :-\.
it is why i decided to look after forward LER mounts . i hope i'll not need to alter too much this rifle maybe just two thiny threaded holes on the barrel!.
all the best

i have have a couple of these mounts on my mosins and they are quality, hold zero and very secure with no perminent mod to the rifle. not sure if he makes one for your rifle but maybe he could. darrell is a good guy to deal with. hope this helps.

danny,

Better check the sight picture and the eye relief BEFORE you buy a scope!

My experience is the the Long Eye Relief (LER) scopes are better suited for a pistol than a rifle.  Try the Intermediate Eye Relief (IER) scopes.  They sight better on a rifle.
