I finished the Handi hanger bar today, it took quite a bit less time than the dovetail version I did on the Wizard barrel, I put this one on the 260 Rem Superlight barrel hoping it will benefit the most from more free floated barrel although it's not much, but I'll be able to compare the two mounting methods since I didn't remove the forend stud, there's a bit more space between barrel and forend with the mount in place, so the stud doesn't touch.
The barrel is .745" straight at this point, so all I did was run a ¾" (.746") end mill down the side of a short length of ½" square 6061, that fits the contour of the barrel real good, then drilled it in two positions, used a center finder to locate the center of the barrel, then drilled and tapped one 8-40 hole in the barrel then anchored the mount with one screw and used the other hole position to locate the other hole in the barrel so they matched the holes in the mount.
Range trip when the weather improves.
