Send it to your CONGRESSMAN rather than pass it around the web.
« on: February 17, 2011, 07:41:35 AM »
We need to get our congressman's email and send all the stories that are passed around the web.

We need to find a way to make them acknowledge our concerns. The ballot is getting ignored. We need to generate more heat that we can put close to the congressmen's feet. We have to find a way to make them stop ignoreing us.

I write my reps so much I'm suprised I haven't received a visit from WA state patrol detectives yet.

Though they respond sometimes, and quite possibly may ignore me others, at the least I may be aggravating them as much as they aggravate me sometimes.

I was told by the offices of one senator (Babs Boxer), one member of the House (Lynn Woolsey), and my member of the CA Assembly (Joe Nation) to stop with the emails and phone calls - those worthies had their minds made up and didn't want or need opposing points of view.

Ha! Sometimes I get a form letter back that don't even apply to my concerns. Of course I understand their position. I am not the one paying them the big corporate money and so they are not too concerned with me. So much for representation! The money I send them comes from the taxes I pay and they are going to get their pay anyway. Wouldn't it be a wonderful thing if taxes were voluntary. That would limit their butts and make them listen!

Once I got from DiFis office both the "Thank you for supporting me, and here is my next proposed gun ban" and the "Gee, sorry that we disagree on this issue" form letters in the same email.  It was great.
