The Jeager is in the mail.

Just ordered a Jaeger kit from Track of the Wolf. Anybody have experience with Track's kits? This should be a sweetheart, swamped barrel and everything.

I'm pretty hyped, been wanting this for a long time. Ordered mine in .62 calibre flavor, iron trim, and a plain-jane maple stock. She's going to be a working gun for sure.

This will be a nice companion peice to my Brown Bess carbine, they will be the same length (both have 31" barrels) and weigh just about the same. I'll use the Bess mostly for grouse and wild Turkey, and the Jeager for four legged critters, although I'd still like to bag one Elk or Black Bear with Bloody Bess.
Brown Bess .75 calibre carbine, .62 calibre Jaeger, .58 Calibre slug gun.

Congratulations on ordering your kit! I'm currently building a pea rifle from one of their kits and the quality is first rate. I've done a fair bit of business with Track in the past and have always been very satisfied. There's usually just enough extra wood to allow you to personalize the rifle a little, especially around the lock mortise and side plate area. Have fun.
