Endangered Species Act Being Challenged.

Understand a bill has been either propossed or introduced into the House to limit the Endangered Species Act.  They are wanting to remove the Federal Protection from Wolves in the Northern Rockies, delist the Poler Bear, Baluga Whales, and the Stealler Sea Lion.  Believe me none of these animals are endangered. 

Poler Bears can and have adapted to life on land.  The danger to Baluga Whales, is Killer Whales.  Steller Sea Lions, again look at the Orcas.  I have talked to Native Fishermen from the Aleutions, who claim the Killer Whale numbers are on the increase.  They see the Orcas attacking and eating Sea Otters and Steller Sea Lions.

As for the wolves, I have heard that a Federal Judge Malloy has questioned if the Wolves introduced into the Yellow Stone area still qualifies as an expermental group.  According to USF&W there has been considerable cross breeding and genetic transfer between the Rocky Mountain Wolves and Canadian Wolves to no longer have an isolated group justifying the classification of experimental.

The whole endangered species act was bunk to start with IMO. Haven't seen a wolff in the wild but I myself just can't tell the difference between a protected wolf and one that isn't. kinda like coyotes in that respect I suppose.

I believe I read where the gov of Montana has told the feds that they WILL kill wof packs that are killing the states elk. Good deal. POWDERMAN.  :o :o

When I was in New Mexico I saw wolves on three differant occasions.  One was in the Sacramento Mountains, the other two were on a ranch up North East of Carrizzo.   I had been told by the New Mexico F&G there were no wolves in the state.  I know the ranchers wanted to see it stayed that way.  Now I see where the Mexican Lobo has been seen in the southern part of the state.  Doubt they will last long, the ranchers will see to it.

Powderman - you're right.  I read yesterday where the Gov of Montana has authorized his F&G to reduce the wolf packs that are chasing the Elk down onto the farms and ranches in the Bitterroot Valley and to stop investigating wolf kills and let the farmers and ranchers take care of their own livestock.  He also sent a letter to the feds telling them he was going to do just that. 

I like this guy even though he is a democrat but at least he has the where with all to tell the feds off and join the ranks of other progressive governators who are  beginning to dislike federal intrusion into state's rights more and more.

Understand our lone Reperasentative to the US House told US Fish and Wildlife leader, "We are going to defund your orginazition".  The house is where all budget matters start, and our Rep  is head of the budget commitee.  Don Young is fed up with Federal Wildlife Agents harrassing people.

Powderman, you hit the nail on the head.  There are several agencies that need to go away.  Many more need to be combined.

Why can not the DIA, CIA, and FBI, all  be brought under the same management.  It could cut down on a lot of duplication, and help them talk to one another better.

The US Park Service does not have the budget or the personnel to adminster proper controls over the land they currently have under their control.  Yet they are screaming for more land, and trying to control land that does not fall under their jurisdiction.

US Fish and Wildlife, duplicate the job being done by every state.  Often refusing to allow the state to use scientific based management of wildlife on nfederal lands, while they do another usless study.  Meanwhile severe damage is done to the herds being managed.

This is terrible news.  :'( :'(  Who is going to protect the polar bears and wolves >:(. I guess it will be up to us to do something about it!!! If we could all just take a few into our homes, we could keep them around for generations to come, to observe and enjoy. Ive got room for the some wolves, but I dont know aboout the polar bear!!! Although, I would love to take in a few polar bears, Im afraid I just dont have the WALL space.  :'( :'(LOL (addition maybe???)

Poler Bear Status going to court again.  Here is the link about the case going before a judge nest week.  The State Of Alaska, is not in agreement with the previous ruling.
