Where To Start With .223 Encore Pistol Sight-in

I am expecting a new Encore 15" pistol barrel in .223 to arrive any day now. I have about 300 rounds of 6-9 year old, Olin USA FMJ 55gr rounds. The box doesn’t tell me a whole lot like what the velocity might be.  Looking on the Remington site their basic R223R3 FMJ 55gr round is listed at 3240 fps.
I only have a 100 yard range for sight-in so I want to know if 2” high at 100yards is a good start.

This is what I figured on the Hornady ballistics calculator.
2" high at 100 3240 fps with a scope mounted 2” off the bore
.223    55 gr., .202 B.C.

How far do you expect to take shots ?  JBMballistics.com gives you the ability to select your bullet from the library, input the mv, select your max distance and select the distance intervals.  You need a good indicator of mv from your barrel length, not what is expected from a .223 with a 20'' barrel. 
   The beauty of a program is that you can vary the mv and see the effects.  Many folks use the 'max point blank range'.  Your max distance is defined by not having a bullet exceed 3'' higher or lower than line of sight.  If you expect small targets you might elect + or-  2''.
   After you are near point of aim at 25yd, move to 100yds for your work.
