Did a little investigating for you handloading Indiana hunters on the only inexpensive jacketed semi-spitzer bullet made for the .500 S&W, the Remington 385gr CoreLokt Ultra bonded, same bullet that's used in the Remington saboted shotgun slug ammo. I couldn't find the BC of this bullet, Remington doesn't list it, neither does Midway in their specs, but I did find this blurb in a Chuck Hawks article....
The 12 gauge Core-Lokt Ultra sabot bullet is a .50 caliber, 385 grain HP semi-spitzer. The catalog MV is 1900 fps and the 100 yard velocity is 1648 fps. The ME is given as 3086 ft. lbs. and the remaining energy at 100 yards is 2325 ft. lbs. The trajectory of that load looks like this: +1.8" at 50 yards, +2.4" at 100 yards, and +/- 0" at 150 yards.Remington 385gr Corelokt Ultra BondedUncannelured 385gr Corelokt Ultra Bondedhttp://www.handloads.org/loaddata/default.asp?Caliber=500%20SqqqW%20Magnum&Weight=All&type=Handgun&Order=Powder&Source=Using that info, I used an online BC calculator and came up with a BC of .285, ran that thru Sierra Inf and it seems close, maybe just a tad high since I don't know what the drag function value is , that remains to be seen as a reality, but the numbers I got for trajectory look like it would give good range compared to other bullets and pistol chamberings, particularly the downrange energy. I know that a healthy dose of Lil'gun will push the 350gr XTP to 2150fps, and Buffalo Bore's 400gr JFN did 2035fps for John Taffin in his 500 Handi, so I don't think it unreasonable to expect 2000-2100fps out of the 385gr Remington bullet, here are the numbers....
