Model 70 safety/bolt question
« on: February 09, 2011, 08:54:07 PM »
I just purchased a new featherweight model 70 in 30'06.  Is it normal for the bolt to become fairly loose when the safety is in either the SAFE or SAFE/bolt lock positions?

I don't have a new 70 but a older 70, do you mean like it wiggles around alot or the bolt will turn some? On my 70 my bolt will lift about 1/2 an inch but other than that it's tight, no wiggle/slop. You might go to the gunsmith section and ask as well, theres many knowledable guys in there.

I just checked 2 of mine. A Featherweight XTR push feed 1st year production, and a, Supergrade CRF, simple answer YES.
