REVOLVER CONVERSIONS AND SMITHING
« on: March 07, 2011, 09:32:49 PM »
I don't know if I would ever do it---I never say never.
I have been thinking about conversions done to satisfy desires for objects that manufacturers don't consider.
Like a conversion to get a .32 mag into a 4 or 5 inch revolver in a larger frame than a J frame.
Who are some of the boys that do this kind of work---I know a great deal about Smithing on Semi's and who to turn to on these issues.

Gary Reeder has done a lot of custom work for me. I have seveal of his custom guns, and love the work.

Smithing is never inexpensive--I know, I have been supporting one for a number of years.
Actually, what I have been considering, thinking about---drooling over  :-[---Is a Smith in DA/SA to shoot .38 super or 9x23---4 inch barrel.

S&W already has one that uses full moon clips to hold 357 mag rounds .
Seems like a new bbl set back like the one on the 45 acp along with the shorter cyl would be in order
If ya can see it ya can hit it !

I am aware of thst model Shootall, it just isn't what I want and it is very pricey if you can find it.
I would like a 4 or, at most, 5 inch barrel.
This is way down the road.

S&W makes a .38 super which is a different caliber than the .327 mag.
I am thinking of a Conversion from .38 to .38 Super---4 inch barrel.
I hev 2 Smiths in .327.
