that sucks. i never understood why states set age limits. i am glad i don't live in one. my son started going with me when he was 4yrs old. he took his nef single shot .243 when he was 6 and killed a nice 6pt for his first deer. now his biggest is a 12pt. he wants to go hunt elk but thats going to have to wait. hey plinking is fun and 22 ammo is cheap.

I agree totally with both subjects. I too first went hunting with my dad when I was 4yrs old and have had a passion for hunting ever since. I grew up in Illinois and at least back then there was no age restrictions. I love to shoot .22's and the price even more. There's no elk out here but I live real close to Maine and New Hampshire....plenty of Moose and Bear.

yeah he looked at some hunt in Colorado and i want to go but just can't afford it. then he was watching sportsman showcase last night were up to 15 people can rent a hunting lodge for $7000 and its 1000 acers. so i might do that one when i do get the money and find some guys to go in with me on it.  i have an old Remington model 6 improved that's almost 100yrs old and its the first gun i go to when small game season comes in. its very accurate for such an old gun.

 My dream hunt lies in Alaska. I looked up some guided hunts for grizzly and moose.....holy moly!!! $11,000.00???
Who can afford that? I guess the people that can afford to drop that kind of money for a hunt are very fortunate. Someday maybe, but like you It'll have to wait 'til I save up for it and even then it'll probably be the one and only time I ever go.

whoa. i want to hunt alaska one day but i would have to get a loan to hunt that. there is know way i could fork out that without saving up or getting a loan. if they have public land i would hunt it. i would find someone that knows a little about alaska and then i would get an airline ticket or something to go there..

357, can we trade wives? My wife would never buy me a firearm. But in all fairness, she does not complain if I do.
