It seems what i'm reading the swede m38 husqvarna mauser prices have taken off lately. I spotted one at a local gun shop in close to excellent condition selling for $499 yesterday. Its a purdy one too. Is the m38 husqvarna the perfered carbine now over the carl gustaf or oberndorf 96/38's? Right now I put the swede m96's with all matching numbers the wood/metal, plus the range plate in excellent condition price between at $450 to $500 right now and maybe higher in some areas. You can trust the stock disc most likely being correct too if its all matching wood and numbers. I would personally think so.
Now it brings me to a subject about the swede mausers too. If the bolt is the only matching number to the receiver this tells me the mauser stock disc may or may not be correct too, nor is the stock rework crowns/stamps may not be the orginal markings too since its not numbered to the receiver. We just can't go by the rest of the gun being correct when its non matching. If the headspace is ok we probably have a good shooter anyway. We need to factor in the non matching numbered swede's into the price/value on what its worth too so we don't over pay. My point is don't get caught up in the moment when it looks purdy and its a non matching swede mauser unless its priced right. I have no clue as to why so many swede mausers have non matching numbers.
