Remington 722
« on: February 23, 2011, 06:57:30 AM »
A friend wants me to restock a Mod. 722 for him but I am having trouble finding a walnut stock that won't break the bank. How much extra inletting is there to use a 700 BDL stock? The gun is a 300 savage in cal. Reason for restocking is a broken stock.
be safe and god bless

Get a short action mod 700 stock for a 722. The worst part would be the rear sight bulge. Minor tweaking from there.

One might also just ix the broken stock.. I've repaired some mighty rough breaks. One a M100 Winchester had a break that almost completely encircled the stock starting at the action inlet and going under the stock and nearly to the top of the barrel channel.. It didn't show except for the one missing splinter..
