Looking for Model Number
« on: March 01, 2011, 03:19:47 PM »
I am looking for a model number (if one exists) for a:

Harrington & Richardson .32 6 shot, 3.25 inch barrel, break-open, nickle plated revolver.

The only markings are on the top of the barrel:

"Harrington & Richardson Arms Company"
Worcester, Mass. U.S.A. PAT OCT. 2 87 MAY 14 & AUG 8 89"

In the Blue Book of Gun Values, there is a model listed as "Automatic Ejecting".  Is this what I have?

I appreciate all your expertise in answering my request.

David,
Yes, you have an "Automatic Ejecting" model - in fact a 2nd Model 4th Varition made between 1894 and '96.  It is a blackpowder ONLY model.  The actual Patent date stamping should be:  Oct. 4, '87, May 14 & Aug 6, '89  The full serial number will be found under the top strap - you'll need to remove the cylinder to see it.  Lift latch, push in small button on left side of top strap, let go of button - latch should stay in upward position - if not, push in button and lift latch - then release.  Serial number should have a letter code prefix.  Post that letter and I can tell you exact year of manufacture.

32 Magnum:  Thanks for the response. I will check the barrel markings more closely, and check again for serial number.
