Well as you can see from my handle, I grew up in Michigans UP and now Im here in the land of trolls below the bridge. Ive been a member of many hunting, shooting, and firemarms forums for some time but finally took the step here into the big time.
I spent my formative years hunting and fishing pretty much every corner of the UP, moved to WI many years ago and still hunt the SW corner of the state now and then with a GREAT group of guys. I now live in Western Michigan and spend most of my hunting and shooting time in the Northern Lower.
Ive come here to learn from a pretty athorative group of individuals, share my experiences and stories and on ocassion enjoy some friendly banter amoung friends. I have my biases and pet peeves as we all do.
Im a hunter in the traditional style I love bluded Steel and Walnut but I do have a stainless Synthetic rifle. I love the .308 and the .35Whelen but I had a custom .300WSM built before most shops stocked factory rifles and ammo. I have a soft spot in my heart for the old Winchester model 88 and think AR platforms should be left at home during "deer camp". When I hunt the furthest thing from my mind is what that RACK will score and I also belive that high fence hunting ranches should be outlawed. My favorite hunting coat is an old Red Wool coat that belonged to my uncle and I wear a Stormy Kromer until May first on general pricapal.
