Wondering what loads you might be using?  How do you like the grip frame?
My FFL holder requires any firearms to be shipped to them via another FFL holder.  So, If I make an offer on a firearm please let me know if this is capable of being done from the start.  Please do NOT mark an item "SPF" to me until we "both" are happy with and in agreement on shipping, funds and the transaction in general.   Thanks

I have a pair of them.  Haven't shot them much at all but just used standard Federal ammo when I did.   I like the birds head grip.  It's comfortable to hold and at least with the less powerful chamberings a real fun gun to shoot.  It's disproportionately small on the large framed Rugers I think but on the med and small frames it look nice.  Have a brass birds head grip frame that'll be getting fitted to a Super Single Six in .32 mag sooner or later.

had one. Mine really liked the lbt 115rfgc and the 98 rcbs swc. I didnt like the birdshead though. THe grips just to small for my hands. Personaly i thought it looked a bit awkward too with the skinny 4 5/8s barrel. It would have looked alot more in proportion with a 4 inch barrel.

My thoughts exactally Lloyd.  I 'rounded' an aluminum grip frame on an adjustable sight .32 mag.  Then we cut the barrel to 3 1/4" and it was exactally right!  Great little woods gun!  I traded it off to a buddy of mine a few years ago so I no longer have it.  I'd like to duplicate that with one of the Uberti Stallions in .38 spl some day, that would be fun also.  44 Man

I too much prefer just nipping the corners on a blackhawk grip frame

I don't have the "Birdshead grip frame". I have an origional Single Six in .32mag. My pet load is a 90gr truncated cone over 4gr Unique and a small pistol primer. Shoots a single ragged hole from me holding off a sandbag at 25 yards. Great gun. I'll never trade it. Great for target / plinking, woodchucks, fox, squirrel and the occasional racoon.

Don't do the 32 mag thing but I liked the feel of the birdshead grips so much I bought a frame from Midway and put it on my stainless 4 5/8 Single Six. Sweet little 22 just got better for me.

Just reading your post and wondered where you got your brass birds head grip. I have a Vaquero that I would like to do at some time.
I also noted that you are in Southern Maine. So am I.
Thanks
