Atterbury
« on: March 06, 2011, 03:39:06 PM »
I'm headed to Atterbury for 10 days of work. I should be splitting the shift with another person and that will free some of my time up. Anywhere nearby to shop for guns or somewhere decent to eat? I have been there before but it was back in 1996 and I'm sure the local area might have changed a bit since then. Any info is appreciated.

Thanks, Dinny

I used to bow hunt there for deer 25+ years ago.  Some nice deer have been taken from there.  They have a decent shooting range now that I have visited a few times in the last few years.  I think 100 yards is the longest distance from what I remember.

Good luck,

I spent quite a bit of time there between 1966 and 1972. Back then the place was pretty dismal. I'm sure it's changed since then but I'm not goiing back anytime soon!

Do you have your POV there? If so go over to sr135 head north at the south end of Greenwood there is a store on your left called the Outdoors man... you should like that one they not only have guns and gun stuff they also have reloading stuff as well, and there prices aren't that bad. Its maybe a 20 min drive from there.

I leave for Atterbury tomorrow afternoon. I'm staying in Edinburgh and hope to have some time before this next weekend to get out and shop around.

Thanks, Dinny

I went to the Outdoorsman and Gander Mtn today. It seems they're both really proud of what they have, prices were pretty high. $41.99 for a box of Hornady .358" 180gr SS-PBs!!

Thanks, Dinny

Thanks, Dinny
