Any dealer exclusive Handi-rifles coming out this year?

  Anyone know if there are any dealer exclusive/limited editions coming out this year?  Last one I saw was the gray laminate stocks about four years ago.  Then there were the colorful stocks that RSR did just before that.  Wish more distributors did these...they can really make the Handi look sweet.

I don't think there is much chance of H&R doing any innovation on its own, so this could be the best option for something new. The Talo models are great. If we could somehow combine the "wish list " thread with this to encourage some dealer or wholesaler to take enough orders to commission some special runs it would be great. There are 3-4 chamberings I would put money down on in a heartbeat.

Nothing fancy or new this year, in fact they dumped some things I know of, . The latest new offerings are the Talo Trapper 357 and 44 mag SB1s and 45-70 SB2 which were available last year, and the Compact Youth 44mag Handi which has youth stock and 20" barrel, they call it a Superlight, but it has the same contour as a 45 Colt carbine. Synthetic camo 35 Rem and 35 Whelen Handis are also available by some southeast region dealers/distributors.

Dunno if an acc barrel is, but the 18¾" Talo with sights is, if I could do it over again, I'd get the Talo instead.

Last week I called CS and was told they were out of the 18 3/4 inch barrel anyway.  Now Im thinking about ordering the regular 44 and having it shortened.  Probably want to scope it with fixed mag or low mag optics anyway.

That's very possible, they didn't have many Talos in January, but I'm always apprehensive about CS info.

Ask em if they have an Huntsman barrels and let us know what they say. You could call several times and get more than one answer, they just haven't had a very reliable track record, unfortunately, they've had Huntsman barrels in stock since last year, a few hundred from my info, but just recently CS said none, always have said none, and they still list none on the acc barrel page.

Synthetic camo 35 Rem and 35 Whelen Handis are also available by some southeast region dealers/distributors.

I've got room for a 35 Rem! Would you know of any distributors handling them?

Ellett Bros just sold all 150 of their 35Rem/444 combos to someone, they're a wholesaler, so some dealer bought them, probably in Mississippi for their primitive weapons season, maybe some of the fellas from down there can round one up for ya.

Ilion had 35 Rem acc barrels in stock for a while too, see the New Accessory Barrel sticky, but check with Joe S, he recently bought one of the 35Rem/444 combos. Hicks Inc had some syn camo stocked 35 Rem Handis too. As an alternative, you can always have a 357Mag barrel rechambered as long as it's on an SB2 frame, that's how I got mine several years ago.

Thanks for the leads! My son wants some camo stocks and there is always room for most any 35 cal in my rack, though I prefer a smaller case than the Whelen in a Handi. I'll see if I can't find a complete one in 35 Rem or one of the 35/444 combo's.
