HELP
« on: March 13, 2011, 05:02:36 AM »
Put my new .256 Win Mag barrel on my G1 frame this morning and now I can't get the action to open or get the barrel back off.  Can anybody help me?

If you look down the page a few lines there is a post titled "Barrel Lockup."  It deals with the same topic.

Ok followed the advice on a previous thread and held the release back and whacked the end of the barrel with a rubber mallet and it popped right off. Had to order a set of split bolts to replace the one piece bolt 17.50 from TC.

Glad you are making progress!

When you get going with that barrel report back how that cartridge handles ..... I'm getting a hankering for something "25" ............

Best regards

hopefully i will get home sometime next week, when i do i have two new projects the 256 and a 7mm TCU, I got to form 100 cases fot the 256 before i left, but the 70gr bullets i ordered didn't come in in time to start working up a load.  Good thing because the split bolt got there the same day as my bullets, and there is nothing as frustrating as waiting for gun parts.  It is always fun to leave a job when you have a new project to look forward to at home.
