you can shoot paper wads till you get round balls.  wads of paper.  try to stay away from any feris metal that would cause a spark as it is going down the barrel.  you could loose fingers if you use something that would spark as it goes down the bore and ignites the powder.   stay safe  where are those pics???

... Ithink I'm going with the copper pipe idea...

What copper pipe idea??  The first principle of artillery making is "Pipe is for water, not cannons."  You could use it for projectiles but not for a tube.  Especially "hammerd shut"; not an acceptable method of manufacture for barrels.

I think ( I hope ) he was going to use the copper pipe (tubing) as a container for the shot.

[from what I remember from H.S., the tubing hammered shut at both ends does work well as bombs if you don't get blown up pinching the blackpowder  :o  ]

It's all corrosive.  Clean after firing each time you take it out - using pseudo-black powder or real black powder.

Black powder is not corrosive

would 60 grains of 3f (pyrodex) work in a .69 cal, Ithink I'm going with the copper pipe idea... just hammerd shut.patched of course. (I'm still VERY new to all this)

I hop you are joking...this is extremely unsafe...can you say pipe bomb.

That's what I assumed.

(a piece of copper tubing filled with a silicone potting compound is what I use)  Very uniform in diameter.

Seems to me a while back we had some one posting here and building a cannon exactly that way...I'm glad you were being safe.

Copper tubing is 1/2" filled with potting silicone.  Oddly enough that comes to about 90 caliber.
