About Hinges

I'm building a settee cabinet and am about to mount the hinges.
Does the center line of the hinge pin affect how it will open?
Looking at the pic, I can't see any difference on how it will work, but I only have one shot at this.
Anybody got an opinion?

i always center  mine

mostly because i am too  lazy to keep a consistant offset

will not matter when its closed
will change  its location when  open
you  won't want the open door  to crowd the opening

Also centered you have more wood between the screw hole and the edge of the board so it will be a little stronger.
