Need help picking a new mold
« on: March 23, 2011, 09:59:14 AM »
Hi Veral,
I’m looking at ordering a mold for my 357. This will be for a CWP gun and it is a Ruger SP101 with a 3” barrel. I’m also looking at target shooting with it in IDPA (http://www.idpa.com and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2nlkUcmU3yw.) Out side the normal info you need what profile would you recommend? Hope the links help.

Thank you for your help!

You'd probably find a 160 gr FN hard to beat, with the short barrel.  A 180 gr would be somewhat more accurate but not move as fast as a bit less weight,  and speed is mandatory to make a flatnose work on live targets.

Sorry but the links would take too much time for me to investigate.  I simply answer questions here, based on my own knowledge and never research anything.  I'd rather by far say 'I don't know.' than look up somebody elses answer and pass it on, without knowing whether they know anything or not.
I know what I know is right, because I only tell what I've proven to be right.
