Any exp. with the new Weaver scopes? Thinking about a V9 for my .243.How are they in low light & what other scopes would they be compared to?

Hey Marlin,

I'm pretty much a dye-in-the-wool Leupold guy (I've got dozens).....but...on a whim and after I'd read some glowing reports...I decided to put a new Weaver Classic V 4x16AO scope on a new Savage in 17HMR.....I'm impressed...I love the thing.  It does everything that my beloved Leupold Vari-X II 4x12AOs do at less cost.  I've also put the 3x9AO rimfire scope on customized Ruger 10/22 Altemonte that I use as a fancy plinker....outstanding!!!

If I didn't already have a Leupi 4x12x50 for my ERShaw custom Ruger MKII in 243, I'd have put a new Weaver on it for sure!

I already have 3 leupold vx-II's and a Zeiss conquest. I just picked up a Rem. 700 bdl .243, that I need to scope.I'm trying to stay around $200.

I was a Leupold guy.
I look at the cost and value of the Weaver V and K series vs the Var X II line and see the same quality.
I have 3 V9, 1 V7, one 6-24X42 OA and one 4.5 -14X40 Grand Slam.
Oh and a 4X 32 Shot gun scope (not mounted yet)

I have six Weavers bought in the last three years. One V3, one V9, one V10, and three V24's. They have worked well for me.
