I have the Smith and Wesson AR-15 M & P rifle and am wondering if the standard bayonet made for the M-16 rifle will fit it? As I recall, they had to make the barrel longer than the usual military carbine length to keep it legal, so not sure if there might be a specification difference between the bayonet lug and the end of the flash hider. The rifle does have a bayonet lug on it, has anyone tried to fit a bayonet to their rifle?
In the old days I always bought the bayonet for my individual military surplus guns, they looked interesting on the wall with that long blade.
