I got an old 16 ga Topper I've had for years and don't shoot anymore. Barrel was shortened due to a bulge. Anyway is it possible to fit a barrel in a caliber with an except-able pressure for the receiver or am I looking for trouble? Never messed with these before but have done a bit of work on side by side shotguns and built(rebarrel , recontour bolts and actions) a few mausers so was curious. Thanks Scott

Look at the rifle chamberings the Topper has been offered with, those would be fine as long as the barrel is fitted properly.

Thanks now I have a starting point. I will have to look at the model #. I noticed the shakira as the only one offered in 45-70. Is it defferent than the topper? Also can a 30-30 in the nef be fitted or am I lookimg strictly for a topper barrel? Thanks

screw chokes....or even a nice shorty rifle sighted 16gage

just buy a 45-70 barrel and fit it

mess  up a 16 gage.....................................and you will be  beaten

Been drilled and tapped. Used some in Indiana for a slug gun.
