RIA 9mm 1911
« on: April 10, 2011, 07:59:41 PM »
I purchased a Rock Island 9mm 1911 Tactical. I convinced myself it would be a good choice because my RIA 45 ACP 1911 and 38 Super 1911 were both well fitted and shot very well.

I wasn't disappointed. The 9mm Tactical has much better sights than the service type pistols along with ambi safety and extended grip safety. The fit is great and this pistol has been flawless with a number of factory and handloaded ammunition.

RIA is even offering some calibers in a Match configuration with adjustable rear sight and many extras.

I have another 9mm in the 1911 style and paid three times what I paid for the RIA. Besides being a little more pretty, the more expensive 9mm doesn't shoot any better.

Glad you're happy with your RIAs. I ended up with a "Tactical" in .45 as part of a trade. Not exactly happy with that part of the deal. Most people owning one seem to be happy with theirs. Enjoy!
