Inflation
« on: April 18, 2011, 03:50:43 AM »
My wife who manages her own investments in the stock market was giving me the news this morning at breakfast.

1) China has had 5% inflation per MONTH the last few months.  Workers want more pay.  Some haven't showed up for work since the Chinese new year.
2) Indias inflation is at 7% per month.

The above two are going to affect things we buy from them.

3) China has been importing more than exporting lately.
4) Opec is cutting oil production to keep prices up.
5) Finland is refusing to loan anymore money to Portugal or the southern European countries.  Same with Germany.  Northern Europe are the producers.  Southern Europeans, Greece, Italy, Spain, Portugal, and add in Ireland are all spending more then they take in taxes.  Northern Europeans are tired of supporting them.
6) Greece is about to default on their loans.

With all the above, we can't expect anyone to buy anymore of our T-bills to finance our Federal Debt.  Using old figures like the early 1980's to calculate inflation, we are running about 10% with a 9% unemployment rate, which is actually about 18% underemployed.  Have you guys priced food and gasoline lately?  If we don't reign in the Federal spending we might have hyper inflation like some 3rd world country.  Look for prices to rise considerably in the next few months.  I told you guys we were going to have high inflation.  Government must be reigned in.  Contact your representatives and Senators and let them know to cut, cut, cut the Federal budget or else in a few years, we will have a bankrupt nation and NO GOVERNMENT CHECKS will be sent out period.  No welfare, no food stamps, no social security, military can't get paid, we will be bankrupt.

I think we must do the following:
1) Cut all discressionary spending.
2) Reign in Welfare and Food stamps.
3) Raise the retirement age for those under 40 or 50.
4) Adapt Paul Ryans budget.
5) Have a flat income tax with minimum deductions.
6) Add a federal sales tax on all goods and services, and add tarriffs on goods that can be made here.
7) Open up federal lands for oil, coal, and mineral production.
8) Switch to natural gas on fleet vehicles like garbage trucks, utilities, UPS, mail carriers, and buses.  (cuts 40% of imported oil)
9) cut farm subsities.
10) cut federal spending on education.
11) cut out spending on arts and NPR.
12) Close military bases in Europe.
13) Get out of Iraq.
14) Get out of Afganistan.
15) Get out of Libia.
16) Relocate military to southern border.
17) Round up and send illegals home.
18) No American citizenship to children born to illegals in US.

I posted this to make you guys aware to be prepared.  I am prepping and getting prepared in case some of my kids have to come back home if they loose their jobs or something.  Unemployment and inflation are worse than the government and media are leading us to believe.  It may get worse if things overseas and our excessive federal budget isn't dealt with.

I didn't see "eliminate foreign aid", but I guess that could be considered as discretionary spending.  I would also include under that heading: Cut congressional and exective branch spending; such as, ground AF 1, no limo service for anyone in congress and no Air Force airplanes for anyone in congress.  Eliminate all special services for congress (spas, cafeterias, gynnasiums--everything.  Cut White House staff and congressional staffs.

The military could use some trimming also.  We don't need as many Generals and Admirals as we have.

Yep, if you guys think of any more cuts, I'm going to make a list and send to my Senators and Representative.  They have got to start getting serious.

Cut Government:  There are too many agencies that are totally not needed.  Each state is responsible for the education of it's children within that state.  Why do we have a Federal Dept of Education?  Every state is responsible for managing the fish and wildlife within that state.  Why do we have a US Fish and Wildlife Service?  These tewo agencies spend billions alone each year.  Why, what do they do?  They need to go away.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

I think the US Fish & Wildlife service was orignially intended to manage hunting of migratory birds and fishing for spawning fish like salmon.  They should not be involved with managing wolves, deer or other such wildlife, which should be state managed.  You could argue that deer, bear, wolves, etc, would cross state lines, but it isn't like 1,000 miles the migratory birds travel, or spawning fish numbers, and how they are affected by hydro dams.

The only thing that has ever "fixed" the ecconomic situation that we are in now is a crash and depression. This situation.  was created by banks and investors and will be kept afloat by congress as long as possible.

The people with much of the wealth may not have enough solid investments like land to secure al of thier money. Investing in land/property got us here so putting thier money there is a inflateing move for now and a deflateing move for the future of thier assesets post crash.

I can't "see" the time of the crash either. I believe there are some with enough control to have a good idea of the time though.

A crash is the only ultimate fix. ear

If we don't stop spending like right NOW the only way is a crash and depression. In other words we are heading for a crash and depression. If the stupid repubs can't cut a lousy 100 billion out of 3.83 trillion we are doomed. Paul ryan has my respect but even he is not going far enough on the cuts. Also, when their  welfare checks don't buy the food they need they will come and it won't be pretty. Dixie dude, your wife is right on the money.

I thought we had a chance with the new congressmen and women, but apparently not so.  They have caved on the first two opportunities.  We are spending $1.40 for every dollar of tax revenue.  If they confiscated the entire GDP they can't fix this now.  Our economy will most likely crash.  I can't make the numbers add up any other way.  If they cut all discretionary spending, they still can't do it without cutting into SSI, military, and other programs seen as absoutely necessary.  The numbers have gotten too big.
