45 long colt-.410
« on: April 13, 2011, 12:01:17 AM »
Can I safely shoot 45 long colt out of my new H&R Pardner .410? Just curious because I know a guy that reloads that cal. Being a smooth bore I wouldn't expect much in acuracy - but might be fun with a mild reload. Just curious - probably not a good idea.

Thomas,

Not a good idea.  The 45LC bullet is .452" in diameter, the diameter of a 410 bore shotgun barrel is approx. .410".    If you want to shoot projectiles from your 410 shotgun there are slugs available from a number of different sources.

Why be difficult, when with a little extra effort you can be impossible?
