.45/410 Good deal??
« on: April 17, 2011, 11:59:33 AM »
My local gun shop has a .45/410 with the pistol grip stock for 209.00 good deal? Next question can you shoot the 454 out of this gun with modification? Is the accuracy with the .45 any good out of this type of rifle?
Thanks TJ

Shotgun frame, almost always underwhelms the buyer. There is one guy here who has many and loves them.

I had one for a while. It didn't shoot good so I got rid of it.

As wreck said, it's on an SB1 frame, so no on the 454, accuracy is questionable since it only has a front bead and isn't drilled and tapped for a scope rail, but can be which makes a difference.

It sounds a tad high as far as the price goes.  I have two and had them tapped for a scope, but unded up taking the scopes off when I got the 45 LC Carbine barrel.  You'll get OK groups with the 45 LC and I do very well bird hunting with the 410.  I do load for both and am using 3/4 oz loads in the 410.    If you could get it for $175 or so it would be a good deal.

tzim... the real skinny is the barrel is made of mild steel for shotgun class pressures.
and as we all know, the 45colt sammi is right at that too !!
so not only tha receiver is questionable........also tha barrel is !!!!!!
i'm tha one that has many, (5) of these in tha family and have made them perform quite well in accuracy. many hours and days :P but all is gud now  ;D
some say there junk... only cus they give up too early ;) or lost intrest.
