What would you say is No.# 3
« on: April 19, 2011, 04:05:07 AM »
As the. # 3 most loaded rifle caliber, I would guess the .308 would be number one as to the many rifles chambered to the .308.
Then the .223 would be a close second.
But after that it becomes fuzzy. What would be your guess?

Just a guess here , but its either the old 30/06 or the 243 , both are great hunting rounds .

I was thinking more along the lines of caliber, the .308 is loaded in everything from 3030 to 300, and I reload 223 and 22-250. But know the guys that load for their AR rifles load a boatload of .223 bullets. I was thinking it would be something like the .311 or the 35. The 35,s have been around for years, but with all the cheap 762x39 ammo on the market. I don’t think a lot of guys load for the AK or SKS. I think I would give the 35s third place.

Seems strange the 33 or 35 did not make a better showing in the top reloaded calibers. Off hand I can think of 6 cartages between the two calibers.

Suprised the .204 would even make the list.

I saw that list a while back in one of the shooting rags; it was the top 25 dies RCBS sells. It would be interesting to see a similar list by a bullet company on the top selling bullets for reloading by diameter.

Think about it that was the list for 2009 not all time. back then 204 was hitting the big time.
If ya can see it ya can hit it !
