.410 shoot'n fun

   Well, took the two grandsons out yesterday to try out the new .410. Both of em loved it. I even  managed to get it away from them occasionally to get a few shots in. NICE !!!
They both picked up quick on the loading and ejecting and after some helpful hints - were shooting pretty good. Targets were out only 15yrds as I wanted to pattern it a little too. At 15yd it was pretty much dead on. They enjoyed watching the holes appear in the 9in paper plates we were using.
 A good time was had by all, and hopefully I've created a couple of future hunters.

Get em out on a day with a light breeze. blow up some balloons and have them shoot them as they roll across the yard. Good practice for the bunnie huntin and lots of fun too.

That sounds like fun! I've used balloons tacked to the target backer with kids and .22's. Easy to hit and reactive - kids love it. Never thought about them as moving targets.  But first, I'm going to start reloading .410's. Those little devils are expensive around here!

Great idea on the balloons. Never thought of that one. I'll give it a try next time out - hopefully next weekend. I'm sure they'd enjoy that alot. Whats a good range for balloons - 15yds or so? Don't want the pattern so open it pops em all on one shot.

15 yards is about right. you can let the ballons go one at a time too.
