ROSS LEATHER-SOUTH AFRICA
« on: April 14, 2011, 08:59:57 AM »
We have looked at the Black Hills leather for the model 28.
I also ordered a rig from Ross Leather. The Black Hills was susposed to be the BBQ rig and the Ross was to be a working rig.
I don't think I can put either in a class--both are excellent workmanship and beautiful.
The enitials in the back of the strap from Ross is over the top.
You look a decide.
Blessings

Very nice.   Was the Ross leather very expensive?

No it wasn't and it is well made.
It is stamped and not by hand but the leather and workemanship are first rate.
I did the two because I wated  a working rig and a BBQ rig---it is hard to put them into classes.

I have a Ross strong side/cross draw rig for my Ruger Bisley and it is the best leather holster I own.
Holds the gun well with a very smooth/easy draw.  Was pre-wet molded and it shows.  Mines a plain jane and is just beautiful to me.    Regards,  BT

BT
That was the reason for the purchase.
I, also, had bought a pancake holster an it is plain jane and well made.
It was a whim--just one of those decisions made to see--a test, of sorts--when i decided to get a true handmade rig and custom rig from Ross.
It cost me money but i did it and am not sorry I did.
BOTH are excellent and surpasses the other depending on the view.
I am pleased as punch with both.
Blessings

Ross stuff is beautifully made, and imo, the equal of the Bianchi leather when John Bianchi ran the company.
It is.....what it is...
