JB Weld for gluing on a flip flop pad ?

wondering if anyone has used JB Weld for gluing on a flip flop pad on a wood stock and if it works fine for the purpose ?

JB Weld might not be flexable enough, I've used a glue called GOOP glue it's very though and flexable and seems to stick to anything.

Plain old Contact Cement is the stuff to use. Put two coats on the wood , because the end grain will soak up most of the first coat !

Another vote for goop.  That stuff never comes unglued.  Originally made for shoe sole repair and now special applications where ever a good, flexible bonding agent is needed.  Ranks right up there with bailing wire and duck tape as a fix all.

I've never used a flip flop as a recoil pad but I suppose it would work.. I have seen a tennis shoe sole used as a butt plate once.. If gluing a pad on a rifle I usually use wood dowels in the screw holes to help with the shear strength..

Goop is great stuff and you can thin it with toluene.  For this application I would use Super Weatherstrip cement originally made to goue rubberized weatherstripping to cars.  You can get it at most Napa's or O'reilly.
