Freezing a Turkey?
« on: February 23, 2004, 04:18:38 AM »
Is it possible to freeze a turkey whole and not get freezer burn?
If I get one this year I would like to save it for at least a month, maybe until Thanksgiving.
Aim small don't miss.

From what I can tell from looking around the web, home freezing of a whole turkey at home is not reccomended. You can however, divide it into smaller parts and freeze these for up to a year.

Here's one site:

I frequently freeze turkey breasts with no problem, sometimes with the whole breast with bone, sometimes just the meat.
