Brno 611, in 22 mag
« on: October 23, 2010, 04:18:38 AM »
Good morning everyone, i have been wanting one of these for years. I've been watching them on gun broker and the prices just keep climbing since they are out of production. Maybe it's time to bite the bullet and buy one before their all gone.
Anyone have one?

I have a BRNO 611-A, and find it to be an excellent rifle - TONS better than the Ruger 10/22 Magnum I had previously.

I used Burris rings on mine, because they had a nicer finish than the BRNO rings, at half the $$$.

Extra maga aren't cheap, though.

Can you post a picture of your rifle?

I have a pristine 611 and it shoots very well. Don't know the prices they command these days but I know that the craftsmanship is outstanding!

My 611 was a thing of beauty, inside and out, but I sold it because I was just never satisfied with the accuracy. I tried ever brand and type of ammo I could find, tinkered a bit with the forend bedding over a span of 6-8 years and just never could get consistent grouping better than maybe 3 moa. I replaced it with a cheap and beat up old Winchester 255 lever which looks like crap but shoots honest 1 moa groups.
The story of David & Goliath only demonstrates the superiority of ballistic projectiles over hand weapons, poor old Goliath never had a chance.

Well I did it, fine ally found a Brno 611 in 22mag that was reasonably priced on gun broker. Bid on it and won the bid.  :) now comes the long wait for the ffl & money order to get there and the return shipping. Can hardly wait.

Tell us about it after you shoot it.  Send pics.

Tom ? the shotgun exibition shooter does some really fancy shooting with the BRNO .22 mag.

I thought one would be a nice find but I gave up waiting and bought an H & R 700 .22 mag. semiauto.  100% dependable so far.    It WILL shoot sub-moa but it's hard to shoot because of the action mechanical design.   Then I bought a 597 .22 mag. because the 700 was too nice to leave in the truck.  It has never "jammed".  I won't say that it's a moa rifle, and I won't say it's not.  I can tell you that so far it's proven to be quite accurate with that PMC ammo.
Vote them all out, EVERY election!

I've had one for years. Sold it once in a fit of madness. Got it back, unfired, from the guy who bought it when he needed money. With Winchester Supreme 30gr it's astoundingly accurate when I do my part. A word of caution though, don't try to improve the trigger pull. If you mess it up there are NO parts available for replacement.
